The best way is to select books published by university presses and other publishers known for publishing scholarly books.
You can use the functionality of the library's Discovery Service to help you find such books. Follow the four (4) steps below.
1) Do your keyword search in the library's Discovery Service.
2) On your results page, click the box next to "Books" in the "Source Types" box.
3) Click on "Publisher" on the left of the results list. Then click on "Show More."
4) Select one or more publishers with "university" in their names and click "Update." (Note: Publishers such as Praeger, Routledge, Springer, and Brill are publishers of scholarly, peer-reviewed books, too. Also, essays/chapters in edited volumes have been peer-reviewed by the editor(s).
